Description

Ethibond Excel Suture, CT-2, Size 2/0, Green, 30" is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture constructed from braided polyester fibers. The suture is coated with a highly adherent polybutilate compound, which serves as a lubricant to reduce tissue drag and enhance handling characteristics. This coating improves knot security and smooth passage through tissues, distinguishing it from uncoated braided sutures that tend to have higher friction. 

The suture is equipped with a CT-2 taper point needle designed for precision and minimal tissue trauma. The taper point needle facilitates penetration by separating tissue fibers rather than cutting them, making it ideal for delicate soft tissue approximation. Its 1/2 circle curvature allows for controlled passage through various tissue types with ease and accuracy.

Braiding of the polyester fibers contributes to optimal flexibility, pliability, and strength. These properties ensure secure knot tying and reliable wound closure.
